The criteria of working parameters
• high impact resistance • iron ore lump sizes of (-) 350 mm to 500 mm • feed rate of approx. 2 to 3 meters in height. • working temperature of 250 deg.
Over time, the chutes in an iron ore mining plant can become worn and damaged due to the abrasive nature of the ore and the high volume of material that is transported through the chutes. This can lead to surface damage and reduced efficiency in the plant, which ends up in repeated welding and patchwork that leads to huge stresses and heat-affected zones. The varied sizes of the lumps with a high feed rate travel through the chutes and end up on a conveyor belt A trial of the new design would be done in one of the mines in the Kirandul Complex. The challenge was to create a design that reduced these problems without compromising the criteria.
Zuper Hex is an extremely strong abrasion-resistant composite metal matrix carbide cermet, fixed to a mild steel backing plate. These carbides have a minimum hardness of 1100 Hv to 1500 Hv and can withstand extreme abrasion, erosion wear, and high temperature. Its highly equipped design helps it to withstand severe abrasion and the high impact of iron ore lumps.
Zuper hex is the most cost-effective replacement available which is fitted with a single bolt or welded to the base. These liners can easily be replaced due to their compact shape and lightweight giving longer life.
Zuper Hex can sustainably reduce wear and tear giving considerable savings and reduction in downtime.
Till date 106 days total material 10.7 Lakh tons which are running successfully with minimal wear and still under use. With significant savings and less downtime, Zuper Hex can sustainably reduce wear and tear. Zuper Hex was able to withstand drastic variations in lump sizes of iron ore with an intense feed rate.
